What in the World are These?

This is a picture of the thing in the field. Since the field is currently in a cash crop, we did not want to go stomping through it. So we must form a conjecture from a distance.....maybe 20 ft tall? What is it????

*edited to add....wouldn't that make a cool night sky observatory if it is just stable old stone ruin? Climb on top with the old telescope.....

New mystery plant. Only one picture. Hanging from a tree. Ideas?

  1. My hubby thinks that your mistery object may be an old silo, or perhaps a part of an old silo. . .

  2. That was my first thought...silo....bit it's not very tall and the top isn't jagged like a ruin of one, but looks almost finished. Does that make sense?

  3. It makes a lot of sense, Hubby is a farm boy and he is very facinated by old equiptment and such. He said that it is hard to say for sure from that far away, but that some very old silos are very short. Something to look into anyway - who knows?

  4. Awesome. I didn't know that! It is at least as old as 1930, as it is on the areal photo from that year. Right in the middle of the cornfield and right at the tip of one of the creek branches. That was before the creek was dammed up and turned into the pond.
