Flogging Molly is Good Cleaning Music

I've listened to Flogging Molly for years, passively, but enjoyed every bit. A friend once said it was good music to clean to; my preferred clean the house quick and furiously music was anything by the Beastie Boys but now that is not kid appropriate, not really.

Question for you all....what music, if any do you clean to? Do you use different music for daily mundane chores than you do for the fast and furious this-must-be-done-quickly-OMG-AGH! cleaning?

  1. I prefer some funky disco-type dance music for cleaning. Old stuff like Stevie Wonder circa 1972. Or maybe Jamiroquai. Some of the newer Beck is okay too. If the house is a real pit and the time limit is really small, I turn to something angry, like Korn, but the kids don't tolerate that for too long.

I have a friend that cleans to Mozart. I seriously don't know how she gets anything done that way.

  3. Elton John's greatest hits. Or maybe Billy Joel.

  4. I put my ipod on and go with the mood of the day. Usually something loud and rocky. :)

  5. I usually put on the soundtrack to Wicked. And I sing loudly and badly along. My singing is guaranteed to drive the boys out of the house and I can get things done a lot more quickly.

  6. Oooh, good ones.

I actually listen/clean to MxPx too, but couldn't today! (For those who don't know, they are a Christian punk band!)

I have been known to crank up oldies Cajun music or electronica.

  7. I listen to funky things like "operator" and "No Parking on the Dance Floor" by Midnight Star or anything by Jody Watley, Justin Timerlake, Madonna. Anything dancey that gets me in the mood to move!
