Seed data

This spreadsheet contains data about the varieties we are starting this year. We'll use it to help decide which work, and which don't. I've kept similar records in the past, but that was at another location so while I'm trying out our favorites from there, we'll have to see if they do as well here.

I still need to add a quantity column, but we've got at least 8 of everything, more for peppers and tomatoes.

  1. Way cool! I love the spreadsheet, great idea that I need to borrow, build on. What does the 1/2sprouted mean? Versus sprouted...

Thanks for sharing, and happy soil to you!

  2. 1/2 sprouted column tells when half of that variety have sprouted. In theory, it's supposed to be a measure of how well the seed is germinating. If I had a big time lag between sprouted and 1/2 sprouted, I would suspect I had done something wrong, or had seed that was inferior.

  3. Ah, thank you for the clarification.

My greenhouse buddy and I are having great fun creating a spreadsheet on our efforts based on your great idea. Thanks for sharing! So far we have just a few wee sprouts, after 2 weeks, but know there will be more soon!
    Happy soil to you,

  4. Such a cool idea to start a spreadsheet! I'm going to have to do that as well. Should be a great resource for next year. I have some of the same variety of tomatoes as you. My Amish and Brandywine sprouted in 3 days!! I was super surprised! Thx again for showing that :)
