I know people who are like this. I've been guilty of it a few times myself. Nearing Thanksgiving, a time to count out loud the things we give thanks for while gearing up for the gimme gimme's of Christmas, I think this situation gets exacerbated.
My challenge for myself this week is to not compare my blessings to others. To simply appreciate my own home, family, and health.

oh my god, I laughed SO hard at this. On at least three blogs today I wrote the words, "I'm a little jealous of..."

ReplyDeleteI remember the "My blessings are bigger than your blessings" fights as a child. For many they continue into adulthood. I went through a time where I was trying to keep up with the Joneses, only to meet a family of Joneses that were trying to keep up with me. We had a good laugh and it put life into perspective for me.
