Birthday surprise. We told her the garage door was broken and she'd have to help Dearest fix it.
She'd been helping him all week, so she thought it was pretty normal.
And.....open.
Glee!
Of course then I told her it was for her to do pig chores. AND SHE BELIEVED ME! Oh no. I had to quickly run over and tell her I was joking. I hated when my family used to tease me like that, I feel so bad. I am a bad mommy.
But then she got over that, accepted my apology and played! She's going to test drive it today since the batter had to charge for 18 hours. Whew. Yesterday we got home late and the coyotes spooked her a little. So today my little swamp elf gets to take off in her Gator. Nana and Pawpaw are totally awesome. Thanks!

Happy Birthday Lil'Bug- part 1
My beautiful girl. I can't believe that 5 years ago Lil'Bug made me a mama. It was love at first tingle, but this girl, she took her first breath and took mine away. She's amazing. I am often left without words at how much a small bundle of joy could change our lives so very much. I can't believe how short this five year journey has been and how far we've come. Dreams do come true. She makes me believe in myself and in the world again. I love you Lil'Bug.

The white hen. So far she's been roasted chicken dinner, chicken pizza, chicken pot pie- next up, chicken egg rolls, chicken salad, and bone broth. 1 chicken, 6+ meals.

To Warm Our Hands
We bought a wood kitchen stove. It will also heat our entire house and provide hot water. One problem is that we found lots of people who are able to install it but no one who will or has time. We have a metal roof, which is awesome, but makes dealing with the chimney liner installation tricky. So, for now the beautiful stove is sitting on a piano mover in my dining room. Sigh. It really is lovely and not at all intimidating, as I thought it would be during the months we waited for it.
